Your Next Disney Trip Starts At HOME
You’re going to Disney! You’re going to Disney!!! #eeekkk
It doesn’t matter if you are still in the planning stages or already have most of the details for your trip planned out – your Disney trip can start right here, right now.
If you are dreaming, planning a one-and-only trip, a first-time trip, or a return trip – it’s going to be absolutely magical! And the magic begins at home.
I’ve been obsessed with the magic of Disney since I took my family on our first trip when my son was six, and I’ve compiled quite a list of tried and true ideas for creating some Disney magic at home over the years!
I’ve gathered some fantastic ideas specifically geared towards including the little one(s) in the magic-making and building their excitement for your trip.
We are going to start with . . .
REVEALING YOUR TRIP
Your Disney World trip will be a TON of fun – so the reveal should be too!
From a scavenger hunt to a Mickey-shaped pepperoni pizza party, there are plenty of ways to kick up the magic!
Just imagine their surprise when they open a box of Disney-themed, helium-filled balloons, complete with a letter from Mickey!
Choosing a fun and awe-inspiring way to reveal your trip is a great way to get the magic started AND create some amazingly adorable photos & videos to look back on later.
BONUS: You can share it on social so friends and family can participate in the magic, too!

LEARN SOMETHING NEW
Kill two birds with one stone by preparing for your trip while also making it educational!!
A quick search online will show you how important subjects like math, chemistry, social studies, and art can be easily associated with Walt Disney elements or attractions.
Learn phrases from each of the languages of the World Showcase, American history from the details you will see in Liberty Square and Frontierland, and African mammals that call the Kilimanjaro Safari home.
Start teaching your older children life skills like time management, budgeting, and reading maps while helping plan your trip in such a fun way they won’t even know they are learning.
CRAFT & MOVIE THEME NIGHTS
Building anticipation before you travel is easy when you incorporate crafts and family movie night. (Use code BLOG10 for 10% off a made-for-you Movie Guide!)
Personally, I love to create a menu and plan a craft, game, or activity, all matching the theme of the movie of the evening.
Pro Tip: Plan one per month for a few months leading up to your trip. You can choose from your family’s favorites or watch classics your children may have never seen before.
A SECRET ITEM FOR YOUR PACKING LIST
This packing list is a must-have and will help you save a little time, a little money and help you create a whole lot of magic!
