Wilderness Explorers Birding Badge

To earn the Wilderness Explorers Birding Badge, scouts explore Pangani Forest Exploration Trail’s chirping outdoor aviary in Africa.
As you enter the aviary, borrow a Bird Spotting Guide and begin searching for the colorful birds as they dash and dive all around you. Younger scouts may choose a spot off the path as a place to settle in and watch the variety of species in the area.
To complete the Wilderness Explorer Birding Badge, WEs fill out a birding observation card in their WE handbook. On the card, they record the names of the birds they observe and how many they count. Next, follow a clue in the handbook to find a secret code word and show your answer to a Birding Badge Guide to earn your badge.
