Port Orleans French Quarter is an intimate resort with just over a thousand rooms, it’s the smallest of all of Disney’s moderate resorts. That’s one of the special qualities that makes it so incredibly appealing.
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is themed to the “Big Easy,” and its jazz and Mardi Gras influences.

Sassagoula Floatworks (Quick Service)
Celebrate the magic of Mardi Gras every day in this converted warehouse setting festooned with festive parade props at Sassagoula Float Works and Food Factory.
Scat Cat Lounge
At Scat Cat’s Club, you’re invited to unwind in this New Orleans-style lounge with some spirited jazz music true to the great sounds of the French Quarter! Tap your toes to some swingin’ jazz and enjoy a full-service bar featuring Southern-inspired specialty cocktails, craft beer, and appetizers. Get a taste of life in the “Big Easy” with delicacies like Mardi Gras Mac & Cheese, Crawfish Étouffée, and Bayou Brisket Sliders. Also, just outside the club, come get your fill of beignets from 6 am until midnight.
Mardi Grogs Pool Bar
Every day’s Fat Tuesday here at Mardi Grogs! Celebrate with specialty drinks frozen or on the rocks, along with wine, sangria, and draft beers. You can even get it to go and take a leisurely stroll along the Sassagoula River or take advantage of the poolside service.

At Sassagoula Express Pizza Delivery, enjoy our Oven-fresh Pizzas, Sides, Desserts, and Beverages nightly from 4-11:30 p.m.
ACTIVITIES
Pools: Doubloon Lagoon features a pool with a sea serpent slide, a wading pool, and a hot tub (spa).
Family Fun: Head over to Riverside for Watercraft Rentals for a chance to master your own watercraft and enjoy fishing and horse-drawn carriage excursions. Bayou Pirate Adventure and the courtyard playground are offered for children ages 4 to 12.
Movies: Port Orleans Riverside also hosts Movies Under the Stars.
Activities and programs are subject to change. Although the activities vary by day, some of the activities may include trivia, arts and crafts, dance parties, games, and bingo.
Look for an activities board near the pool or food court, or check your tv for the schedule during your stay.
SERVICES
At Port Orleans French Quarter, there is a laundry room at each of the five quiet pools.
Each cycle at the self-service laundry facilities costs $3 per wash; the dryers are also $3 for 30 minutes. Credit and debit cards are now accepted at all laundry locations for washers, dryers, and soap vending at most Walt Disney World Resort hotels. In addition, all laundry rooms have the ability to request a text message when a laundry cycle is complete!
Please note: While some locations still contain a limited number of coin-operated washers (with a change machine made available), other locations accept credit and debit cards only.
Walt Disney World Resort hotels also offer dry cleaning and valet laundry services. Select “Housekeeping” on your in-room phone to schedule a pick-up.
SHOPPING
Savor the spirit of New Orleans with Mardi Gras mementos and hotel logo items. Princess and pirate wares also abound at Jackson Square Gifts and Desires.
This enchanting shop offers signature Disney character apparel and souvenirs as well as Port Orleans logo merchandise. You can also find snack foods, beverages (including adult beverages), magazines and books, and other general sundries.
TRANSPORTATION
You have two Disney transportation options at Port Orleans French Quarter
- Motorcoach Bus
- Ferryboat
These travel times are approximate and provided to give you an idea of the average travel time from the resort to the park.
Please plan on up to a 20-minute wait for Disney transportation in addition to walking time to resort, or theme park transportation stops.
- Magic Kingdom – 16 minutes by bus, 29 minutes by car (with transfers)
- Epcot – 20 minutes by bus, 19 by car
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 17 minutes by bus, 19 by car
- Animal Kingdom – 22 minutes, 19 by car
- Disney Springs – 20 minutes by bus, 18 by boat, and 12 minutes by car
- Blizzard Beach Water Park – 24 minutes by bus, 14 minutes by car
- Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – 19 minutes by bus, 13 minutes by car
PRO TIPS
- Be sure to enjoy the atmosphere after dark; it’s lit up with a genuine French Quarter ambiance. You will really feel like you are “there.” Also, the boat ride after dark is a nice option when things aren’t too busy.
- The beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter are a delicious, unique treat!
- Port Orleans French Quarter food court has a huge cookie ice cream sandwich with two big cookies and three scoops of ice cream you won’t want to miss. It is large enough for a few to share.
- Peruse the area and marvel at the names of the streets in Port Orleans French Quarter: Cafe au Lait, Rue de Begga, and other cute names like that.
- There is a walkway between the two Port Orleans resorts (Riverside and French Quarter), and it is one of the few resorts where you can pool hop between the two resorts’ main pools.
- A horse-drawn carriage ride is a perfect way to snuggle with a loved one while touring the beautiful resort.
